Name: Ceranil Felbane

Age: 120

Birthplace: Tranquillen

Class: Demon Hunter

Profession: Skinning

Past/Current Affiliations: Farstriders, Illidari

Relatives/Friends: A few associates in the Illidari no real friends.

Description of Appearance & Personality: Has curling horns protruding of his skull and his nail resembling claws his skin from his binding ritual. He bears tatoos like others his kind though they glow a sickly shade of purple. He is a social recluse only speaking when he must usually to those commanding him, or when someone chooses to speak to him.

History: He was a recruit in the Farstriders during the Second War tough unlike the rest of the rangers he elected to use daggers rather than a bow, preferring to fight in close range only using his bow when he could not afford to be detected. He was more willing back then to be outgoing and converse with the rest of the soldiers after skirmishes with the Amani. He managed to swiftly become a proper ranger at the end of the Second War returning to Tranquillen to keep the peace and hunt the local wildlife for food.

He enjoyed the quiet days of peace for a long while til the Scourge began to set it's sights upon Quel'thalas, and he was called to war like many of the other Farstriders. The longer he fought the ever increasing army of the dead the more demoralized became until on Quel'danas he was forced to put down a few of his former friends who had been claimed by the undead. After the Sunwell's destruction and the ordeal the Scourge put Quel'thalas through, he was a practically a withered husk of his former self, only speaking when had to. He followed Kael'thas with the other Sin'dorei as they headed south fighting off Scourge raids as they marched toward Alliance territory.

When Kael'thas' forces entered Outland Ceranil could not help himself to stare in awe at the shattered world and the twisted energy energy rolling through the skies. As soon as the Sindorei met up with Illidan and began fighting the demons that infested this broken world, one day after carving up one of the Legions fel guard he watched how the creature called Illidan fought couldn't help but admire this beings form in battle and the fel energy it wielded. He thought to himself about how thing s could be different if he had power like that in Quel'thalas. When the siege of the Black Temple began he fought with all he could muster against the demons that lurked within, he witnessed what remained of his friends butchered by the demons and nearly dying himself at the hands of a dreadlord. Though the temple was taken by Illidan's and they were victorious though to Ceranil it felt hollow.

Once Illidan's forces marched to Northrend, Ceranil remained on Outland as guard at the Black Temple. Sparring with the Broken stationed there to try and improve, thoroughly getting defeated most of the time, but he soldiered on and eventually being able to best a few of them when the expedition from Northrend returned battered and nearly broken. For most of Ceranil's time was spent helping fortify the defenses of the temple for a presumed invasion of demons. They prepared yet none came. Confused that no attack was coming he continued to keep watch along the walls for a while.

Eventually he took note of the Demon hunters being trained. He was approached seeing if he wished to become a candidate to become a demon hunter. He gladly accepted. The next day began to train when he noticed his instructor was blind he thought he could easily best this man with the skills he already knew. Drawing his glaives he charged his master that feeling of superiority evaporated in seconds as he was thrown to the ground with a loud crack. This process continued after a while practically each time he sparred with his master, or other candidates wishing to become demon hunters only attaining victory against the other students and even then that was rare. The time not spent sparring with the other students he had used studying fel magic at the command of his master. His skills after six months of training came to the point where he bested the other students in the sparring matches on a regular basis.

One night he was summoned to begin his ritual of binding he was nervous as the ritual master began his explanation that feeling only grew steadily worse. As he was instructed to step into the circle he could  hear the others around the circle begin a slow chant in demonic. The runes within the circle began to burn with fel energy, the air on the other side of the circle began to warp until a rift tore open. A dreadlord slowly stepped out of the darkness of the rift it's gazes falling upon Ceranil before lunging at him the fight was long brutal until Ceranil drove his blade into the demons throat forcing it to collapse on the ground blood slowly seeping out of it's lifeless corpse. Grimacing he devoured the beasts heart and drank it's nearly throwing up through out the process. Once he finishes the last drop of the demon's blood he collapses from agonizing pain eventually blacking out from the sheer weight of it all.

Ceranil wakes up within the forests of Quel'thalas in the areas where he hunted. Even wearing his old ranger garb. A low voice can be heardbehind him. "You toy with power you do not understand mortal." Ceranil draws his daggers staring at the dreadlord the demons voice was calm. "Anyway it doesn't matter I leave nothing than withered when I am finished and return to the Nether." He lifts his hand sending a bolt of fel fire at Ceranil the fighting resuming once more, the dreadlord died once more only to rise again the process repeating itself  each time the demon rose up Ceranil had more knowledge of what the demon would do the ground the fought upon slowly withering till it turned black  the plant life around them nothing more then charred husks. The dreadlord rises up once looking winded and doing his best to keep his frustration from showing. "You show promise hunter." He says in an almost pleading tone. "The Legion could offer more than the Illidari ever could for you. You could be made a lord of the Legion and have an immortal army at your command and you could have the power of a god." His words dripping with desperation. Ceranil considered for a moment rushing forward impaling his daggers into the demons skull. "Not interested demon." He murmurs silently.

He slowly draws his blades from the demons skull he looks around expecting him to rise once more. Instead the forest slowly crumbles away giving way to a visions of an infinite amount of worlds each invaded by the Legion most crumbled to it's relentless onslaught, yet some were able to stand against them though it only served to by time before the Legion's flames consumed their world their peoples slaughtered for their defiance. The screams of the many creatures Legion slaughtered slowly rose to a chorus. Ceranil slowly began to see fields of corpses unable to take in sights an longer he gouged out both of his eyes with his daggers. embracing darkness.

He woke up once more his vision distorted only able to identify the glow of the other Demon hunters 'eyes'. Slowly his sight adjusted to where he could see normally taking note of the changes on his body. One of the other demon hunters offered him a blindfold to cover his eyes. He was surprised that he could see through it. A laugh emanates from the deepest corner of his mind. "I will always be here hunter. If you ever change your mind..." The voice fades away as tatoos began to be etched into him. After a while the tatoos began to glow a sickly purple he felt power coursing through him.

In time he would take part in the invasion of Mardum after the initial assault began striking the demons when the Illidari came out of the first portal. Through the majority of the invasion Ceranil aided the rearguard against any demons that attempted the flank the Illidari forces when the closed in on the ship that contained the Keystone, he aided the naga with weakening the Soul Engine to the north of the Felhammer. Though the Legions forces continued to swell and the Illidari's numbers dwindled as the  battle went on. Measures had to be taken before they were completely overwhelmed. A tome was recovered amidst the fighting that taught a greater uses of fel magic showing the means to draw upon the demons locked away within them further than had before.Once Ceranil learned of this drew in the power the tome had to offer, he could hear the dreadlord locked away in him laughing. Shrugging that off he ascended to the Felhammer with others who unlocked the secrets of the tome to fight the Legion commander there and dispatch her minions, and finally recover the Keystone after so much blood had been shed for it.

Once the Keystone was in the hands of the Illidari the prepared to return to the Black Temple to repel the invaders besieging the temple, though as they crossed the portal they saw Lord Illidan defeated his corpse lying on the ground. Ceranil observed the amount of foes surrounding them. He dropped his warglaives to the ground kneeling in surrender as the Wardens took the Illidari away. To this day Ceranil languishes in his cell silence his only companion. Each day he remains conscious he yearns for the day of his freedom.
